[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]A lot of music today is repetitive, with the same electronic background with heavily autotuned singers. This is a list of some artists who manage to stand out.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]1.  Passenger

Making his debut into mainstream music with his number one hit “Let Her Go,” Mike “Passenger” Rosenberg continues to release both fast and slow folk inspired music. His most recent release, “Whispers II,” was released this past April and is definitely worth the listen. Pulling from the same indie folk style that Passenger draws from, Josh Pyke, an Australian singer-songwriter, released his most recent album “But For All These Shrinking Hearts” at the end of this past July. Pyke continues to put out quality music, incorporating more instruments as he gains more confidence from his previous album, “The Beginning and the End of Everything.”[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]3.  Colin Hay

Former singer of Men at Work, a band that rose to prominence in the 80s for their song “Down Under,” Colin Hay continues to follow the passion that he has held since he was a teenager. Having just released a new album, “Next Year People,” he shows the world that even though he has grown older, the musical spark hasn’t left him yet.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]4.  Ed Sheeran

Having released his latest album, “X,” in 2014, Ed Sheeran is far from irrelevant. Continually putting out hits, such as “Thinking Out Loud” and “The A Team,” Sheeran manages to connect his unique voice and style to almost any instrument, from the violin to the guitar. Breaking into the mainstream with his song “Take Me To Church,” Irish indie-songwriter Hozier manages to send powerful messages through his music. His unique voice and style set him apart from other modern musicians. He uses his songs to talk about problems in society, further setting him apart from the crowd.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]6.  Milky Chance

A German band consisting of two people, Milky Chance is relatively new. Their first album, “Sadnecessary,” was released in 2013. With their hit “Stolen Dance,” Milky Chance proved their worth to be listed among these other musical veterans with their unique style, fusing electronic music with fingerpicked guitar.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]7.  Woodkid

Yoann Lemoine, otherwise known by his stage name, Woodkid, uses an unusual mix of instruments to tell stories. The French artist has directed music videos for artists such as Katy Perry, Lana Del Rey, Taylor Swift, Drake and Rihanna. He enjoys the use of percussion and horns over traditional guitars, and as a result, separates himself from many artists, given his unique style. His most recent album, “The Golden Age,” was released in 2013.
