The orchestra will perform their last concert, “Beginnings and Ends,” at 7 p.m. on May 18 in the auditorium. Some of the songs the orchestra will play include “Spring” by Vivaldi and “One Summer’s Day” by Joe Elgar.

Senior Helen Nguyen, the orchestra’s historian, is confident that the concert’s arrangements of classical and contemporary songs will appeal to all members of the audience.

“The orchestra concert is nothing like you’ve seen before,” Nguyen said. “I think the show will surprise people who have a taste for contemporary music.”

In addition to showcasing the talents of the orchestra players, the concert will also honor the seniors in orchestra with tribute songs performed by the Concert and Symphonic Orchestra that will accompany a slideshow of the seniors’ baby and graduation photos.

“[The other seniors and I] are looking forward to the show,” Nguyen said. “I think it’ll show all of our hard work, and it’s a bittersweet ending to the year. This is the seniors’ last concert, so it should be a good time.”
