Junior guard Roy Broomfield scored 11 points in the first quarter and the Hawks never looked back in a 52-45 victory.

The game was sloppy on both sides, preventing the Hawks from widening their lead over the Farmers, which stood at 25-15 at the half. In the third quarter, Lewisville forced several turnovers, allowing them to narrow the Hawk lead to 39-32. Despite a constant barrage in the fourth quarter, the Hawks were able to maintain consistent possession that tired the Lewisville players. Torrobric “T-rob” Robinson was solid in the paint as he kept loose balls alive and added 10 points of his own to the tally. Broomfield rested much of the second half but still finished the game with 21 points, many of which came on fast breaks.

McKinney Boyd lost 75-60 to Plano West, while Flower Mound beat Plano 55-43. The playoff race is a little less cloudy at the moment, as McKinney Boyd and Lewisville dropped a game back of fourth place with their losses. The Hawks take on second-place Allen next Tuesday as they hope to stay in the race for the fourth playoff spot.
