This year’s show displayed a collection that was both technically sound and a resonant critique on contemporary society, like “Have a Nice Day!” by junior Min Sin.

“I wanted to show how consumerism sort of affects everybody in our society to conform people into certain beauty standards and standards of living and how you look,” Sin said. “When you go to Wal-Mart you see the plastic bags with ‘Have a nice day’ on it, that was a really big inspiration for my piece. So I just wanted to tie that idea with society every day.”

Exhibiting an array of breath-taking pieces, the show ran from Jan. 23-31, and featured an assortment of mediums, including scratch board, ceramics, graphite and e-media.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][nectar_slider location=”LISD Student Art Show Photo Gallery” slider_height=”650″ arrow_navigation=”true” desktop_swipe=”true”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
