The band also competed in the Bands of America Super Regional Competition Saturday, Oct. 31 in San Antonio. The rainy Halloween evening saw the band place fourth in the finals round with a score of 91.6, behind Claudia Taylor Johnson, Ronald Reagan, and champion Flower Mound. The finish was the second highest in the school’s history at the contest. Hebron tied with Marcus High School for the Highest Achievement Award in the Music category. Marcus ended up slotted into sixth place. Ronald Reagan took the award for Highest Achievement in Visual with their show “Every(one),” and Flower Mound earned the Highest General Effect with their program “Surreal.” The adverse weather complicated the day’s schedule, with several bands having to drop out of the contest entirely due to severe weather warnings.
