Students ask questions to emergency physician Dr. Bond. He gave a presentation in room 2150.

The career and technology department will hold its first career fair April 19-23 during block lunch in different classrooms. A schedule will be provided for students.

“The superintendent asked the high schools to put together a career day so the students would have the opportunity to talk directly with those in various fields of work,” career and technology department head Diane Weaver said. “We decided to do it as a fair throughout the week and utilize our block lunch time to provide opportunities for students to interact.”

Speakers employed in construction, the medical field, the Army and more will be present at the fair.

“Most of our speakers are going to be in classrooms where they will have a presentation and time to interact,” Weaver said. “Some of them have asked for 40 minutes, and some are just willing to do a couple of presentations. So we’re going to have a schedule for the kids and we’re asking [students] to grab their lunch and come find out what those professions are about.”
