[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Five choir members will perform in the All-State concert at the Henry B. Gonzalaz Convention Center in San Antonio on Feb. 12-15. All choir members who went to the area competition on Jan. 11 in Abilene were selected.

“I’m very proud of not only the accomplishment, but the work and dedication put into working on the music to achieve this honor,” choir director Rachel Forester said. “It’s also the first time in history that all who auditioned at area made it into the All-State choir.”

The All-Staters include seniors Patrick Warren, Michkael Rumpuff,  Kathryn Brode, Gillian White and sophomore Kaylee Hairel.

“I feel really grateful to have been able to make it this far, especially as a sophomore,” Hairel said. “The process takes a lot of hard work and dedication and willingness, and to be able to strengthen myself in those aspects was definitely a good thing. Even though sometimes the process seemed difficult, I can look back now and see just how much fun this whole [experience] was.”
