What is the purpose of this club?

“We basically want to help people,” co-president Maryam Rizvi said. “These kids have been in the hospital so long they just want something to smile about, so our goal is to have these kid’s wishes come true. If we raise enough money for them, that will be more possible.”

What is the inspiration of this club?

“One of my friends used to be a Make-A-Wish kid and she was telling me, ‘yeah it’s such a great cause,’” Rizvi said. “I thought it was awesome so I emailed Make-A-Wish and they like gave me a game plan to start the club. So I guess that our inspiration, we wanted to help kids.”

What can members expect when they join?

“We’re kind of a social club, we want to draw people in so they kind of know what the club is about,” Rizvi said. “[Members] should expect to come to a lot of volunteering opportunities and things like that… They should expect to be really active in the club.”

Member testimonial:

“It feels good to know you’re making a difference in someone’s life and helping,” member Jennifer Pham said.
