BPA to host “hat day” to raise money

The Business Professionals of America (BPA) is hosting a “hat day” at school on Nov. 18. Students will be able to pay a dollar to wear a hat for the whole school day.

The club is putting on the event in order to raise money for their chapter of the organization to fund competitions and for general spending. According to senior media coordinator Izzy Igwe, “hat day” gives students a chance to express themselves in a new way.

“Hats are in fashion right now and we wanted to give students and teachers a different way to express themselves like we’ve hardly seen before,” Igwe said. “That’s why we stress that the hats don’t have to be the most fashionable hat you have in your closet, students can make it fun by wearing silly and extraordinary hats.”

BPA is a club that focuses on nurturing businesses-minded high school students. Students are able to showcase their leadership, academic, and technological skills through competition.

“We would love for all members of [BPA] to perform brilliantly at district and qualify for state competition,” Igwe said. “It would be even more crazy if we got a group of five or more to represent Hebron at internationals.”
