Happy&Healty: kindness

I’m a big believer in karma, so I think what goes around comes back around to you one day. Not that I think karma is the only reason for kindness, but it’s a start. Why would you want to hurt other people if it would only end up hurting you when it’s all over? Why not show people the love you would like to receive everyday?

That’s my goal. I want to love people even when they make me mad, or even when I don’t feel like they deserve my love. Not only because I think it’ll come back to me someday, but because I have a “we’re all in this together” mentality. I want to be someone people trust because they know I’m kind no matter what the situation is.

The key part of being happy and healthy is being kind. It’s important to care about other people, because at the end of the day we’re all just here for a short amount of time, so we should make it count. If people were just a little kinder to each other everyday, our world would be such a better place, both for us and future generations.

Being kind doesn’t require a total change in lifestyle, but maybe just a small step in the right direction. If you’re used to yelling at a family member, your next small step could be helping them out with something they’re struggling with instead of getting mad. Your next step could be holding the door open for someone with their hands full, or it could even be paying for the person in line behind you at Starbucks.

No matter how big or small, kindness matters. I want to be kind no matter what, and I’d love to see the world become a kinder place by everyone trying a little harder. Kindness is important, and if you’re lucky, it may just come back to you one day.
