Tennis began its spring season on Feb 2. Tournaments are all day on Fridays.

Tennis competed in an all-day tournament at Marcus, Harmon, Flower Mound and Briarhill on Feb 2. It was the first tournament of the spring season.

“We played a lot of people,” senior Valerie Hart said. “We played Flower Mound, Marcus, and the Colony. We played a lot of schools [that are farther away] like Lonestar or Frisco. Since it’s in the spring, you play a lot of different schools than the fall.”

Hart said the fall season is more team-oriented, while the spring season is individual.

“I play A singles,” Hart said. “I have my own draw that I’m in and it’s just me on my own. Everybody’s playing their own matches, but how one person does doesn’t affect the whole team.”

The spring season will be Hart’s last season.

“I’m really excited,” Hart said. “I want to make sure it’s a good season. I want to do a lot and make it really impactful. It’s kind of heartfelt when it’s your last season because [you’ve] played all four years.”
