Lady Hawks end season, senior night with win over Broncos

Tuesday night was emotional for seniors Molly and Grace Pospichal, Amanda Lilly, and Britney McCaleb. Four long years of dedication to the basketball program came to an end for the seniors, their service appreciated before the game with a quick ceremony.

The Lady Hawks used strong defense and patient offense to dismantle the Broncos. Junior Victoria Miller lead the way with 12 points and Grace Pospichal contributed 8 points in her final high school game. The Broncos had no presence in the paint, which allowed the Lady Hawks to consistently get easy baskets.

The win over the Broncos snapped a four-game skid for the Lady Hawks and ended the season on a positive note. Although the team won’t be in the playoffs, the building blocks are there for a great season next year. Only four seniors will be graduating and four of the five starters will be returning next season. Since this was the first year for Coach Bell, her scheme will be better executed next year with a group of players that have experience with her system.
