The Lady Hawks beat the LD Bell Raiders in the first round of the UIL State Volleyball Championships. In the first set, the Hawks won 25-16, 25-17 in the second set, and won the third 25-7.

Several players stepped up to the sweep such as senior Banner Rodgers who had 13 digs and sophomore Kendall Patterson who had 6 kills and 7 digs of her own. Senior Lauren Kirch and junior Brookah Palmer led the team in kills with 10 and 12 respectively. Senior Hannah Holloway also had a dominating performance with 8 digs and 15 assists.

The Lady Hawks will face a tough Copperas Cove team who also sweeped their first round opponent, Duncanville. Copperas Cove finsihed their season with a 40-7 record and had a 64 state ranking compared to the Lady Hawks’ 35-11 record and 10 state rank.
