Art that advances to regionals is placed on the gallery floor where students and teachers can go to look at pieces. The judges closed the gallery that afternoon so they could determine who advances to state. “It was kind of nerve-wracking, but at the same time it was really fun,” Junior Claire Song said. “I got to see everyone’s art and everything was so good. Everyone was so talented. So it was just a fun experience going with all the talented people from Hebron and seeing all the talent from our district.”

The team played their final game of the season on Tuesday against Guyer, losing 61-36. Of the three eligible seniors who played this season, all three received scholarships to play basketball in college. “[In the future], I think building on the legacy that these seniors are leaving this year and changing the culture of Hebron girls basketball [is our goal],” Branch said.

The cornhole tournament, which is set to start at 1 p.m., will follow the annual alumni game that begins at 10:30. The game will feature past players and both events are ways the booster club is trying to raise money for the program. “The alumni game is something that Coach Stone has done for many, many years and it brings the players back in town,” Johnson said. “The idea to pair [the tournament] with the alumni game was because the alumni game is one of the few games that we can guarantee will be on a Saturday.”

After rain and construction, the old practice fields are in poor condition and remain unused. The main stadium field space has been taken by the varsity soccer teams, forcing the JV1 and JV2 teams to change their practice schedule. “Varsity has got to get their practice and field time in,” Zimmerman said. “So if anything is going to get sacrificed, it’s going to be JV2 and JV1. I think more than anything else, it’s going to hurt them.”
