My eyes never left the screen. I was entranced by the action-packed visuals in front of me. The intense, adrenaline-filled scenes left my heart racing.
On Jan. 23, Netflix released season two of “The Night Agent.” Following protagonist Peter Sutherland (Gabriel Basso) after he gets the chance to become a night agent at the end of the first season, the audience is thrown into a whirlwind of events.
There is only one word I could use to summarize the season: unpredictable.
The season was full of new characters and a multitude of storylines — something that the show has consistently done over the two seasons. The plotlines introduced for each character kept me on my toes. Different elements build alongside each other throughout the entirety of the show, until all of the storylines come together in the finale.
In the first episode, beloved character Rose Larkin (Luciane Buchanan), who was a protagonist in the first season, returns. The audience gets to see her back in action with Sutherland, leaving us reminiscent of the prior season.
An aspect I really loved was the consideration of character development. Closed off characters open up over time, and Larkin and Sutherland work through trauma from previous events in the first part of the show. Showing issues carrying over from the first season allowed for better flow between the separate events that occurred over the course of the show.
The only factor that could be potentially off-putting is the pace of the show. The beginning feels a little slow as background over new characters and their roles is given. It is worth sticking around through the wait, though, as the pace picks up mid-season — leaving viewers with jaw-dropping moments.
Season two definitely lives up to the standards set up by the first season. From the plot lines to the visually aesthetic scenes, everything about the show left me in awe, hoping for a third season.

This Season is better than the first. Peter and Rose made the right decision to part ways to protect her safety. Can’t wait for Season 3.
