After waiting a year and a half, Netflix released two official trailers for “To All The Boys: P.S. I Still Love You” on Dec.19. and Jan. 22. After watching the trailers about a billion times and re-watching the first movie, I cannot wait for the movie to be released  Feb. 12.

I have always loved romantic movies, and when I first watched “To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before,” I instantly fell in love with the characters – especially Peter Kavinsky (Noah Centineo). In the first movie, Lara Jean Covey (Lana Condor) wrote five letters, which she never intended to send, to the boys she had crushes on – one of whom happened to be Peter.  After those letters get sent out by her little sister, Kitty (Anna Cathcart), Lara Jean and Peter become a fake couple so that his ex-girlfriend gets jealous and to prove to Josh (Israel Broussard), her next door neighbor and sister’s ex-boyfriend, that she didn’t love him.

Based on the trailer, Peter and Lara Jean are still together, but another recipient of the letter, John Ambrose McClaren (Jordan Fisher), comes into the picture. I don’t really know how I feel about this, because I love Peter and Lara Jean together, but I think a love triangle could

bring an interesting aspect to the movie. I don’t know whether I will be on team Peter or team John, but both actors are phenomenal, and I can’t wait to see who Lara Jean ends up with.

I’m also excited to see how Lara Jean’s friendships turn out. In the first movie, one recipient of the letter, Lucas James (Trezzo Mahoro), helps Lara with all of the obstacles she goes through and they become good friends. In the trailer, you see Lucas and Lara Jean talking, and I hope he makes more than one appearance in this new movie. Though he wasn’t in a ton of scenes in the first movie, he seems like a great person and an even better friend.

Along with seeing Lucas and Lara’s friendship grow, I hope we can see Christine (Madeleine Arthur) and Lara’s friendship grow. Christine, who is actually the antagonist’s cousin in the first movie, was one of Lara’s closest confidants and someone who was always able to help Lara Jean as well as stand up for herself and others. I want to see more of Lara Jean’s friendships since they weren’t a big part of the first movie.

I’m very excited to see what Lara Jean’s future will hold and overall, I hope that she can find someone to write a letter to, and keep their hand in her back pocket.
