With a $7 admission fee, members had access to pizza, group activities like the “Stuco Olympics” and the opportunity to develop relationships with other members.

“We do ‘You Go Stuco’ as a giant mixer to kick off the year,” President Spencer Roark said. “It’s a great way to come together, meet new people that are in Student Council that [participate in] the same activities as you do.”

To warm up the group, the officers lead iconic chants like “Hey there’s a party,” “Captain’s calling” and “I went down to the river.” From there, the groups split into informational breakout sessions and regroup for the classic balloon pop game, where Roark and Historian Kayla Urbino decided to partner up.

“I didn’t really realize the height difference between Kayla and I,” Roark said. “So when we went to go pop the balloon, I ended up having Kayla 10 feet off the ground trying to pop it and I almost broke her back. But … we got it popped.”

As a “goodbye,” the six groups competed in the “Stuco Olympics” then discussed upcoming events.
“My favorite is the hula hoop where you have to link arms and get the hula hoop across,” Roark said. “My team actually won three of four [rounds]. Really to end it, we all come together and talk about homecoming, Stuco activities for the year and what to expect.” [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
