The international coalition behind this is known as “End It: Shine a Light on Slavery.” Most of the 27 million slaves are involved in sex trafficking and sex slavery, which is a trend that is growing at a startling rate, according to multiple stories on CNN.

“I want this to be a generation that speaks and acts for something bigger than ourselves,” senior class president Mattie Carranza said. “To bring light to this topic means that we are speaking for those unheard voices”

Carranza received approval and Principal Scot Finch allowed a short video to be shown on this topic during second period classes and posters hung on the walls.

“Administration has allowed this to unify the students to rise together,” Carranza said. “They haven’t shut us down but only encouraged us to link arms and raise awareness. They are in it to ‘end it’ with us.”[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
