Football played against the Plano West Wildcats in the first football game of the year on Aug. 30. Though the Hawks held a 31-point lead in the first quarter, the Panthers were able to add a few scores in the second and third quarter. However, the Hawks held off the Panthers for the rest of the game, winning 53-26.
The Hawks will play their first away game on Sept. 5 against the Arlington Martin Warriors at UT Arlington Maverick stadium in Arlington
Ruckus and Rowdy members yell encouraging words to the football players before kickoff. When a player scores a touchdown, they run to Ruckus and Rowdy members to dunk the football into the garbage can.
