Even though Punxsutawney Phil predicted six more weeks of winter on Groundhog Day, it seems as though spring is coming. As temperatures rise and days get longer, I compiled some lively songs that are perfect for the pleasant spring weather. Roll down your car windows and whip out your sunglasses because spring is here to stay.

Wildfire- John Mayer

This upbeat, catchy song reminds me of the many sounds of spring. It encompasses everything that I have come to love about the Texas spring months like sunshine and pleasant weather. A fun beat, cute lyrics and memories of the great outdoors. This tune is also a reminder of pursuing fresh interests.

Pompeii- Bastille

Pompeii is arguably the best song on Bastille’s album “Bad Blood.” It has perfect instrumentals and amusing lyrics that make me want to roll down the windows in our cars and go on a long drive. This song doesn’t sound like a typical track due to Bastille’s British origins, which reminds me that as spring arrives, so does a nice change.

Chicken Fried- Zac Brown Band

What could be better than a country song like “Chicken Fried?”  Nothing reminds me of warmer months more than this song. The entertaining lyrics and beat make this song one of my all time favorites. With lyrics like “it’s funny how it’s the little things in life that mean the most,” it makes me think about the spring and summer months when life starts to slow down a bit and I begin spending more time outside.

Chariot- Gavin DeGraw

This song has been around since 2005, but I continue going back to this classic jazzy, merry beat. The lyrics talk of “golden waves,” which remind me both of the beach and also sun-bleached hair. Gavin DeGraw has such a unique voice that I cannot help but love.
