Five Starbucks frappuccinos to treat yourself with on National Frappe Day

Growing up, I always enjoyed going to Starbucks with my mom and sister to get a frappuccino. With National Frappe Day on Oct. 7, what better time to stop by the nearest location and grab one of these cold, sweet drinks? Here are a few of my favorite Starbucks Frappuccinos.

Caramel Ribbon Crunch Frappuccino

The Caramel Ribbon Crunch Frappuccino quickly became my favorite drink after seeing it recommended online a myriad of times. This blend of buttery caramel syrup and roasted coffee is just sweet enough without crossing the line of being too much. As a caramel lover, I was delighted to finally have a drink that allowed me to enjoy the beautiful harmony between the rich taste of caramel and coffee. In addition to the flavor, the drink has crunchy caramel sugar on top and throughout — hence the crunch in its name — which adds to the aesthetically pleasing presentation and overall experience of the drink.

Peppermint Mocha Frappuccino

Despite the Peppermint Mocha Frappuccino often being associated with winter, I believe it’s a great drink to enjoy year round. The peppermint and mocha flavors intertwine, allowing you to get a nice and tasty balance of both. I was a bit worried the mocha would unpleasantly overshadow the peppermint; however, the blend leaves you refreshed and fulfilled. I usually enjoy this drink around December, but even outside of the holiday season, this beverage never disappoints. It’s perfect for those who enjoy that delicious candy cane taste, no matter the time of year.

Strawberry Crème Frappuccino

The Strawberry Crème Frappuccino is a great drink if you want a more icy version of a strawberry milkshake. From its pretty presentation, pleasing color and strong strawberry flavor throughout, this drink exceeded my expectations and is great for those who’d enjoy a light coffee-free drink. Even my mom, who isn’t a huge fan of Starbucks frappuccinos because of their excessive sugary taste, enjoyed this drink because it was less sweet compared to many of the shop’s other drinks.

Mocha Cookie Crumble Frappuccino

If you’re a chocolate lover, the Mocha Cookie Crumble Frappuccino is the drink for you. The creamy mocha flavor immediately hits your tongue, complementing the chocolate cookie bits that accompany the drink throughout. Though this beverage is on the sweeter side, it isn’t like many other frappuccinos where the sweetness becomes unbearable. The smooth texture often reminds me of an upgraded chocolate milk and, despite this drink being as full of chocolate as it is, it managed to not feel overwhelmingly rich and heavy.

Pumpkin Spice Frappuccino

I was excited to try Starbucks’ fall menu and was especially eager to try the frappuccino version of the well-known pumpkin spice latte. Though I realize this drink sounds basic, you can never go wrong with the classics. During fall, I love trying all types of pumpkin desserts, and this frappuccino did a great job of making that cinnamon and pumpkin combo shine so that it doesn’t feel overpowering nor incomplete. Since the weather isn’t cold, this drink is perfect if you want that well-known autumn flavor but don’t want to drink the hot version just yet.
