Editor’s Note: Due to the COVID-19 crisis, students are being exposed to a flood of information each day. It can be hard to decipher what this information means for students’ futures. The goal of these announcements is to translate executive orders and LISD news and explain how it affects  students.

May 1: 2020 Graduation Update

This morning LISD announced all five high school graduations will take place on their originally scheduled day at Texas Motor Speedway. For Hebron this is Saturday, May 23 at 10 a.m.

They also announced that the number of attendees will be limited and a parking pass will be required to enter the venue. LISD said it anticipates every student will be able to walk across the field and receive their diploma.

At Texas Motor Speedway, the graduation ceremony will be projected to a 12-story tall, 218-foot wide video board, which happens to be the world’s largest. Parents and family members will be required to park in the infield of the speedway and remain in their vehicles to watch the ceremony live.

Each campus will reach out to their student body to communicate more details soon.
