Editor’s Note: Due to the COVID-19 crisis, students are being exposed to a flood of information each day. It can be hard to decipher what this information means for students’ futures. The goal of these announcements is to translate executive orders and LISD news and explain how it affects students.

In an email sent on May 3, principal Amy Boughton gave students and parents updates regarding the upcoming end of the year events.

Head football coach Brian Brazil, head volleyball coach Karin Keeney and head band director Andy Sealy will coordinate athletic and fine art collections for the next two weeks. As soon as that schedule is finalized, Boughton will send families a collection date and time update. Assistant principal Brian McCoo will be sending information about the textbook, library books and classroom book collection times and dates. Assistant principal Sandra Lee will be sending information about iPad collections after her collection meeting on Tuesday.

Boughton also announced that late last week, English teacher Jeanney Haneline learned the Perot Museum will not be able to accommodate large events this summer. So, Hebron will not be able to hold the rescheduled prom on June 11.

On Tuesday, May 19 at 3 p.m., Hebron feeder schools will be coordinating efforts for their staff to be on campus to wave at seniors as they drive through their campuses to see past teachers and connect with elementary and middle schools.

As she concluded her email, Boughton announced there will not be any semester exams.
