Senior Camille Thomas guards an inbound pass during practice on Sept. 22. The team practices every day after school from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Girls basketball will play an away game against Flower Mound High School on Dec.11 at 6:30 p.m.

The team’s current record is 0-1, ranking them fourth in the district.

“The scores pretty much go back and forth,” head coach Chalisa Branch said. “Last year they beat us twice and the year before we beat them twice. They are definitely one of our cross-town rivalries. Both teams are so competitive, so it’s going to be a good game.”

Varsity holds practice daily after school at the freshman campus. The team has been conditioning and practicing to prepare for district games.

“The team has been working really hard during practice,” assistant coach Lindsey Pouncy said. This game will be a good way to see the progress that has been made.”

District games help assess the team’s strengths and weaknesses. Branch said the team is eager to play against Flower Mound.

“All of our district games are going to be tough, so I am looking forward to seeing how they do on Friday,” Branch said. “This game will be a good way to see the progress that has been made.”
