Pros:

• offers widest variety of Indian/Pakistani goods
• has the largest meat market out of all other Indian/Pakistani stores
• has a restaurant, open late

Cons:

• may not allow returns for certain items
• restaurant food doesn’t taste very good
• not the cleanest place around

Opinion: Indo-Pak is where my family shops the most. It’s conveniently located and never has issues with “running out” of items. The prices are also pretty reasonable considering all the items we buy are imported from either Pakistan or India. As for the restaurant, the food smells great but lacks flavor. Overall, Indo-Pak is very good for a quick shopping trip.

Apna Bazaar Grocery & Grill

Pros:

• Clean
• good service
• has a good take-out restaurant

Cons:

• Most of the time produce isn’t fresh
• restaurant food isn’t good
• store is small

Opinion: I don’t go to Apna Bazaar unless I can’t find what I’m looking for at another store. It’s always my last resort. Apart from it being farther from my house than other stores, its groceries, both imported and “fresh,” are stale. Since it’s one of the few stores in my area, I reserve it for desperate times.

Pros:

• Clean
• has a restaurant that serves pretty good food
• friendly service

Cons:

• Not a lot of variety in imported grocery items
• very little fresh produce
• little to no meat options

Opinion: I go to Al Markaz to eat, not to shop. Their attached restaurant, in comparison to other stores, has the best Pakistani/Indian food. Their grocery options are very limited, so go there if you want to eat out and not cook at home.
